About The Columbus Athenaeum Wedding Venue

32 North 4th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215

The Columbus Athenaeum wedding venue first began building in 1896 as a home for the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. It didn’t take long for the building to begin expansion. In 1914, the Grand Ballroom was built, and in 1934, new kitchens were added. Over the years, the building was given new accommodations to bring it to the modern age. When it was purchased in 1996, the new owners restored all the original details and added heating and cooling. Today, you will find a breathtaking, beautiful space just waiting to help you throw the wedding of your dreams.

Details of the Grounds

The Columbus Athenaeum offers several indoor spaces for your wedding. For larger weddings, you can use the Olympian Ballroom. This space has high, hand-painted ceilings, Corinthian columns, and a balcony around the room’s perimeter. For smaller weddings, you can use the Priory, a space inspired by 12th-century architecture. It has a stage with faux-marble walls and vaulted ceilings. They also offer two theaters for this portion of your day.

The Athenaeum also has several spaces for your reception. The Olympian Ballroom offers the most space for dancing, while the Large Theatre provides a grand space for your event. Smaller weddings can use the Oak Room or the blush pink Spartan Room.

With so many rooms within the theater, the venue can work with you to find a space where your guests can mingle and enjoy refreshments during your cocktail hour.

The venue has designated spaces that will serve as a bridal suite before your wedding. Unwind and drink some champagne as you put on those finishing touches!

This venue is truly equipped to give you the wedding of your dreams. The Olympian Ballroom can host up to 900 guests, the Large Theatre and the Oak Room can accommodate 230, and the Priory can hold 160.

This theater is full of ornate touches that will elevate your wedding. Most of the rooms feature neutral paint, crown molding, and hand-crafted details. You will find unique touches inspired by cultures across the world.
