The Athletic Club of Columbus, or ACC, has been a social hub for Columbus’s political and business communities for over a hundred years. Founded in 1912, the Club was founded by a group of business professionals who wanted to create a space for social and athletic adventures. In 1915, they moved into their official six-story building, which still lives to this day – and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, the Athletic Club is still a popular gathering space. With athletic facilities like an indoor pool and fitness center, group fitness classes, and personal training, it’s a popular place for a great workout and socialization. They also have several onsite restaurants for both casual and formal dining.
Details of the Grounds
In addition to a variety of membership amenities and facilities, the Athletic Club of Columbus is also home to several beautiful indoor event spaces.
You and your partner can exchange vows in front of a grand and ornately carved fireplace, with a mantle adorned with your signature wedding florals. The walls are paneled with a rich mahogany, which complements a chevron-patterned hardwood floor and a beautifully detailed ceiling. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in an excess of natural light, which reflects off of beautiful crystal chandeliers for an extra touch of elegance. It is a formal space that still feels intimate and cozy for up to 200 guests.
For your reception, the Main Ballroom is the perfect place to celebrate. Attached to the main ceremony space, this room has details like brass chandeliers, bay windows, and white and gold decor. It’s a large room that can accommodate up to 350 people and is just neutral enough to accommodate any color palette or design theme.

The Athletic Club Of Columbus wedding venue has so many opportunities for gorgeous portraits that are timeless and romantic. From the building’s remarkable curved staircase to its rich wooden features and bright natural light, there are so many places that are perfect for capturing breathtaking photos. The venue is also close to the State House, meaning we can take a short walk about a block over and use striking marble backdrops for epic portraits, too.
Wedding Details
When you book your wedding at the Athletic Club of Columbus, your rental will include dressing spaces for both you and your partner, a dance floor, all tables and chairs, linens, silverware, and glassware. Their helpful event staff will not only provide wedding planning services but also take care of setting up and cleaning up the venue for you. On the day of your wedding, the ACC will also provide you with a day-of coordinator so you can focus on being present rather than worrying about details. All catering is provided by their in-house culinary team. And, on the night of your wedding, you’ll receive a complimentary bridal suite in one of their overnight accommodations!
